Bioinformatics

Projects involve the development of software for analysing biological data, and are best suited to bioinformatics students or students with good programming skills.

Project 1: Software for analysing immunoglobulin sequences

In collaboration with A/Prof Andrew Collins 

Project 2: Computational study of protein-DNA interactions

Control of gene transcription is mediated through the interaction of transcription factors with specific DNA motifs. A number of projects are available for students with good computing and molecular biology background to study various aspects of protein-DNA interactions and genetic regulatory networks.
