Honours Objectives

 

1. To expand the student's knowledge in selected areas of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Science to encourage a critical appraisal of research literature.


2.
To develop the student's level of competence in:

 
 

a) The application of a wide range of contemporary techniques in the field

AND    
  b) The general principles and techniques required in specialised research areas within Biotechnology and Biomolecular Science.
3. To foster interest in some of the broader issues implicit in Science and Technology.


These objectives are achieved by:

 
i) An Introductory skills workshop of tutorials, and seminars.  
ii) An honours project of an experimental nature, carried out under the supervision of a member of staff.  
iii) “Discipline specific activity”
