Course & Program Planning FAQs

How do I choose my courses?

The elective and general education courses that you can choose will be somewhat determined by the requirements of your specific program. First of all you should check your undergraduate program and course information & timetables to see what elective and general education slots need to be filled and whether the courses that most interest you will satisfy timetabling and other constraints. Many programs include a list of recommended electives for their students.

Where are my classes?

How can I change the subjects I am enrolled in?

You should seek assistance in the BABS Student Office.

What happens if two of my exams are held at overlapping times?

You should seek assistance in the BABS Student Office.

Can I apply to transfer from one science program to another?

Yes. In all our science degrees you study foundation courses in the first year enabling you to specialise in second and third years. So, if you'd like to transfer to another science degree, you'll have studied the right courses to continue into Year 2 of a different one. Please remember, all applications to transfer between degrees, and for advanced standing, are assessed on academic merit. Please view the Degree Changing FAQs for more information.

Can I enrol in more than 27 credit per term?

Overloading of courses is permitted under special circumstances and requires permission from the BABS Student Office.

Can I enrol in a course without fulfilling the prerequisites?

This may be permitted in certain cases if you have entered the program with advanced standing or can show exceptional proficiency in the subject. You must have a signed letter of permission from the course authority and file a Variation of Enrolment form at the BABS Student Office.
