Future Graduate Diploma Students

Program Objectives

The BABS Graduate Diploma is aimed at graduates from local or overseas universities who wish to obtain specialist training and experience in a particular area of science. If the applicant does not possess an Honours degree, this program is also recommended as a pathway to gain a qualification for entry into the Master of Science by Research or PhD programs.

The Graduate Diploma comprises 48 Units of Credit, typically consisting of a research project (30 UOC) and three courses (6 UOC each) completed over two semesters. Mid-year entry is permitted for the BABS Graduate Diploma.

Entrance Requirements

  • Completion of a recognised three year Bachelor degree (AQF Level 7) with a minimum average mark greater than 55.
  • Entrance for students whose first language is not English is dependent on them meeting the specified UNSW English language requirements.
  • Applicants must seek and obtain agreement of a BABS academic to be their supervisor prior to applying; this is a key requirement to gain acceptance. Full information about finding a supervisor is available HERE.
