Research Description:

Molecular evolution and population structure of bacterial pathogens. Several human pathogens are studied. 1)Evolutionary relationships of E. coli including Shigella 2)Evolution of toxigenic V. cholerae clones and re-emergence of cholera 3)Molecular evolution and typing of Salmonella enterica 4)Evolutionary genomics: analyzing genome sequence data to understand the evolutionary dynamics of bacterial genomes 5)Bioinformatics: developing systems that facilitate handling large amount of data for evolutionary analysis and genome analysis. Evolutionary genomics of bacterial pathogens.
