Research Description:

Pathogenic mechanisms of the gastric bacterium, Helicobacter pylori. Animal models of Helicoabcter infection. Phylogeny of the Helicobacter genus including the identification and characterisation of new species. Ecology of the gastrointestinal tract with special emphasis on mucus-associated bacteria.
