Science Faculty Workshop

The Faculty of Science mechanical workshop located at the rear of the Samuels building has extensive precision engineering capabilities for repair, maintenance, fabrication and development of instruments.

Services include precision milling, large-scale turning and and various forms of welding to suit individual requirements. In addition, there is a fully equipped glass-blowing workshop enabling the manufacture, customising and repair of glass apparatus.

There is also an electro-mechanical workshop located within this mechanical workshop. Repairs, maintenance and trouble shooting for a wide range of electro-mechanical equipment can be provided. Staff can also assist in development of new equipment.

Supervising staff of these workshops can assist clients with instrument/apparatus/device development.
