Development and Validation of Diagnostic Methods for IBD Cases Caused by Virulent C. concisus Strains

We have found C. concisus molecular markers that are associated with subtypes of IBD. These molecular markers will be used as targets to develop diagnostic tools for the diagnosis of IBD cases caused by virulent C. concisus strains.

Techniques used in this project include development and validation of PCR and quantitative PCR methods, DNA extraction from clinical samples, development of antibodies, confocal microscopy and Western-blot.
