The BABS Graduate Diploma is aimed at graduates from local or overseas universities who wish to obtain specialist training and experience in a particular area of science. If the applicant does not possess an Honours degree, this program is also recommended as a pathway to gain a qualification for entry into the Master of Science by Research or PhD programs.
The Graduate Diploma comprises 48 Units of Credit, typically consisting of a research project (30 UOC) and three courses (6 UOC each) completed over three terms. Mid-year entry is permitted for the BABS Graduate Diploma (Term 1, Term 2 and Term 3 are the available intake/commencing terms).
Completion of a recognised three year Bachelor degree (AQF Level 7) with a minimum average mark greater than 55, specialising in:
- Molecular Cell Biology;
- Microbiology; or
Students without demonstrated research experience will be considered at the discretion of the Postgraduate Coordinator in the School.
Applicants must provide evidence that their English language ability meets the minimum requirements for admission: English language requirements
Applicants must seek and obtain agreement of a BABS academic to be their supervisor prior to applying; this is a key requirement to gain acceptance. Advice regarding finding a BABS supervisor is available here.
